What was the song that started the strait edge thing

I was reading some magazine last night that quoted some singer from some band (minor threat) that supposedly started the "strait edge" movement.

What band, what song was it?

if i tell you can we delete this thread before it gets out of control?...the band was minor threat...the song you are asking about is probably "out of step". now be done with this thread. and not just because it has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with bikes.

Yeah Minor Threat, the singer is Ian Mackaye, the song is either out of step or straight edge

Actually, most people here are very familiar with punk. And also, this forum kind of groups together alot about bike versus non bike. Bags aren't bike related, but they're posted about very often here.

You don't like it, go to a moderator and make things hard here.

On the other side, thanks for the info!

The only thing I take offense to is double standards and people who are ignorant of themselves.

So, yeah, I hate myself often.

bag, threads..

Now I'm dizzy.

Agreed. You know, my first copy of that album was given to me by some guy who makes bags. Not straightedge, though.

I love it when I can remember the first time I heard an album or song or the person that introduced me to it. Makes it so much more valuable. Just thought about this some more - it can also completely ruin an album or song.

So here is the big question:

Is it straight edge to ride without handbrakes because it raises awareness of your surroundings?
