On a whole I think the safety-movement is very exagerated and that if we who are promoting cycling helmets were consequent we should also be wearing them walking and driving.
Well, I think that helmets look terrible, so I only wear one of those leather hairnets while cruising around town on foot. I can't stand walking around with a big piece of styrofoam on my head, I'd much rather have a fashionable padded leather g-string strapped to my dome.

I seen some more recent models of this. Looking good. Cleaner design and build since he began making them a few years ago.

I know.
It is funny now, but if the current trend continues it will be serious very soon.
Not too long ago people that were riding motorcycles with helmets were laughed at.
Now it is a law in most states/countries.
When I was in grammar school one kid wore a bicycle helmet when riding and we made fun of him all the time. Now I am wearing one myself and about half of my friends do too. Times are changing and what was ridiculous yesterday is normal today.
Better laugh while you can the safety movement is out to snag us all.

I don't wear a helmet while walking but I do wear a cup everywhere. You never know when someone might come up to you and give you a swift kick in the balls. Safety first.

I don't like wearing helmets either. That's why I rock one of these joints:

although walking around with a helmet is gonna be hard for me to do anytime soon....
I might opt for some steel studded addidas to rock this winter...
sometimes watching people slip, slide, and bust their asses on hills...I feel much safer riding my bike and rolling up or down them (even on NON studded tires)

it would go on the wall along with the rossin gloves that would only fit an 8 year old...
