Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: some but not enough

Fixie as a verb

Overheard: "so me and Dan fixie'd over to Jimmie's place and smoked a bowl"

Has the word "fixie" become a verb? or is it another hipster thang?

the problem i have with it is that you're calling out the fact the you're riding a fixie.
who cares? it's a bike, you rode it, get over it. lots of people ride bikes, and just 'cause yours is a member of a subset of bikes doesn't really make any difference.

what's next? we geared over there, we recumbed over there, we foldied over there?

ugh.

The "smoked a bowl" part is really what makes it poetry.
