Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I think there should be a subforum. I don't ride fixed, too many dadburned hills, but I love to read the hipster threads, and I dig how they metastacize in a matter of minutes to 20 pages+ If there was a subforum, I would no longer have to wade through technical stuff, and get my straight-up "fix" of messenger bags, poseurs, fake spoke cards, white belts and Arcade Fire album reviews.

Come on, really. This whole silliness is what this forum is all about.

What are we going to do to, have another "How was today's commute?" thread, like in Commuting. Seriously, come on.

I don't think separating the hipsters from the rest of the forum will do anything. Who would admit they are a hipster and post in the other forum?

ok, so don't get me wrong, but the community that thrives around fixed gear riding isn't just about fitness, working on your bike and bikes bikes bikes... its more of a subculture that involves a lot of different things. if you're going to have a forum about that, its going to have to include everything else besides just 100s of threads about sugino 75s, bags, and "what gear should i ride _____?"
