On the locking of threads in the FG/SS forum
I guess I am just as tired of seeing threads that should be locked as I am of seeing threads locked.
Lets see, first of all if you constantly are seeing words bleeped out with ********** then you should know you can't say it. The mods might say it to clarify certain words, but that doesn't make it a double standard, they aren't using it as a crude reference or expletive.
If your thread is completely unrelated to FG/SS or cycling or an aspect of FG like mess bags and mess. jobs, then expect it to get locked or moved to "foo." I don't come here to read about how much we all hate hipster or bash hipsters or give hipster props or whatever. A year ago the word hipster wasn't even on this forum, there was just posenger if you wanted to knock someone. Everyone keeps getting upset because there frums are getting locked, but really do wee need three forums in the top 5 being about hipsters....tell me you can't see where the mods are coming from on this one.
On the other hand though mods, if someone is curious as to why threads are locking or things are getting bleeped or what have you, the worst thing you can do is make some one sentence reply and lock it down. Give a competent explanation, leave some time for questions so everyone can get answers or ask questions and then lock it down or move it. The "I was helping slow people" or whatever that was response is a discredit to the wealth or information we have come to expect from this forum and inturn, its moderators. Blunt answers and locked threads is equivalent to some kind of secret police operation. "move along, nothing to see here, no comment, nothing happened, etc."
So I guess in short...or in long as it were, I just felt like I needed to vent about both sides of the issue and I hope this thread won't be locked and maybe the mods can clear things up and everyone else can voice how they feel too, because I for one am starting to find the FG forum very awkward and sometimes I don't even want to come here anymore and it almost breaks my heart.

summary.
rancid hates hipsters. He thinks they are nazi's man lovers.
Rancid wants better explenations. Example " i locked your thread because i love nazi's...and frankly anyone who doesnt will be forced to sing the cure's -Im burning for you- while marching into an incenerator."
Rancid wants relevance. He finds it awkward. Like when you go #2 and the pee water splashes up into your a- hole.

I honestly dont really have a clear idea of what a hipster is either. Its a vague term that can include everyone if you want. Sometimes it seems positive, sometimes negative. Mostly its described as someone who fluctuates interests based on popular social ideals. right now it is men wearing womens jeans and fixed gear. Tomorrow it may be 3-piece suits and plaid umbrellas.
Ceya, i am certain you are not a hipster. You sir are the man. i said it.

oooh that reminds me I have to wear my suit. Too bad my bb is effed or I would wear it on my ride. I love the looks from people when I'm on my bike in a suit 'n' tie.

Moderators, please lock this thread as it is making me cry, and I am incapable of using my "back" button. Thanks!

I think we should all stop being friends, therefore we'll stop being so casual with eachother.
See, that's the "problem", but that's the reason I keep spending most of my time on this forum. It's not JUST to find out whether or not the Manhattan Bridge is frozen over or why I sweat so much when it's 20º outside, but to join in the banter between all you like-minded folk.

I think there were just a lot of drunk people who thought it too cold to actually leave the warmth of their computers last night. And I agree with s_9.
