Deerhunter. The record is called, "Cryptograms". Ambient experimental rock, I suppose. Eerily reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine at points. Arguably one of the top ten records of the year. Judging by some people's taste on here though, not sure it would be everyones cup of tea.

Glad to see you agree about Dylan though.

I've almost picked up the Deerhunter record on several occasions. I'm a fan of pretty much all of the Kranky bands. One of these days I'll grab it.

I would highly suggest also checking out the Fluorescent Grey ep. It's very good. Oh and yes, Kranky is usually a very reliable label.

That sounds really awesome. I am going to need to try and check that out too. I love those criterion collections, too bad they are always pricey.

Aves, I read some good reviews on that Burial record but have yet to check it out. Does it live up to the hype?

That was the first listen and I like it a lot. Very chill, good beats with some nice vocal samples and ambient sounds. It's a pretty good mix of elements. Seems little repetetive at times but, I would definitely recommend it. I'm not blown away but it'll be in rotation for sure.

I know I've said it before, but John Hollenbeck has got to be my favorite composer short of Ben Allison.

Right now I've been listening to loads of Okkervil River and Destroyer, though wolf parade still makes its way into my daily listenings usually.
