LaLa Land holiday rides

So I'll be back home for a week around Christmas time and would like to hook up with some forum people for some rides. I'll be there from the 21st to the 28th and can pretty much ride whenever. I live in Santa Monica so don't know who's on the westside but I'd be down to explore other places on the bike. Any ideas or dates in mind? I was thinking of riding down to Bill Ron's and checking out that shop. I'm gonna bring my 3rensho as soon as I figure how to fly it on the plane without getting charged.

Disclaimer: I've never really ridden in LA so it'll be interesting for me to adjust to the traffic.

I will flying out of LA during those times but keep your eye posted on https://www.bicyclekitchen.com/ for some rides. Those kats throw a good show, just not sure if they are sponsoring any during that time. I know there are tons of roadies and teams that have holiday rides as well.

I don't wanna ride with a bunch of roadies... enough of those can be found on montana ave sipping lattes on any given morning and weekends. I have yet to see a fixie on the westside when I'm bike. Everyone seems to ride mtn bikes or cruisers for some reason. Cruisers I can understand but the roads are so well paved I wanna take advantage of it and meet up with some other fixie riders and bomb around town for a bit.

edit: awww only one person can go on a ride with me? boohoo...

It's the holidays, I would love to ride with you, but I find it very unlikely I'll have time to. Come a few weeks and I'll be in Death Valley. Wooo!

I am going home to Santa Monica for those days as well - but I have no room to bring the bike with me this time in the car

Last time I was there I saw the most gorgeous (yet slightly obnoxious) track bike riding down San Vicente. Still in lots of latex though, and the florescent blue custom had weird geometry, so I assumed he was some hard core track racer training. But it was the first fixie I ever saw on the west side!

Sillygirl, how can you not have room in the car? How small is the car? Thats just too bad, looks like it'll only be me and prodigal rocking the fix on the west side. I'm still surprised though seeing as how SM and venice is filled with trendy folks and hipsters. Guess the car is still the preference to impress people and status symbol.

I'm really excited to ride in LA though, it'll be fun to be the only fixed on the road and seeing people being confused trying to figure out where my brakes are.

I did see someone walking his Pista on Venice Blvd. I know I should have asked why he was not walking, but I was already late for work.

If you guys want to swing more easterly I might make a guest appearance. I only show myself once in a while so, when I do show up, everyone is happy to see me.

how far east? east LA or San Bernadino east?

I know I wouldn't be the only one, it's just that I NEVER see anyone on a fixed on the westside, which always bummed me out. Hopefully it'll be better this time since I'll be on my bike, hopefully someone will spot me out their window and run out with their fixie to ride with a fellow rider.

latex, lycra, tomato, tomato. perhaps I had my mind on other things.... hehe

Anyway, no room in car because on the way home, my man and I are taking my grandma home to monterey too, and while I could squeeze the wheels in, not worth the weight, tight fit, when I likely could only get 1 ride in.
