MKS pedal comparison

i tried searching but couldnt find the info i was looking for.

Ill be placing an order with business cycles tomorrow and pedals are on my list. My question is, are the RX-1, Custom Nuevo, and/or the Royal Nuevo pedals really 70+ $ better than the sylvan pedals?

If so, what are the major differences other than the bearings?

Also, anyone know anything about the MKS Unique Custom pedals? i cant find any pictures and google search doesnt yield much.

Well i used to ride sylvans and now they are on the girlfriends bike... now i have royal nuevos that i got for my birthday. The difference is noticable, both bearings and craftmanship, but for $70.00 more i would never have bought them for myself. I dont race enough to justify it. But they are the ****. And the smoothest pedal i have ever held in my hand.

Unique Custom

This is the pedal, but I know nothing about it and have never seen it. But I would love to do both, so fill me in. All I know is that it is around 50 and NJS certified.

If you decide to go with the Sylvans I have a pair with clips and straps that I only used once. I'll sell them to you for $25+ shipping.

i already own the sylvans, but i wanted to make sure i wasnt missing out on too much...the unique customs sound pretty sweet, if they are in fact similar to the sylvans but njs certified. does anyone know if MKS has a website?

the IRO pack is the cheapest i've seen (with cheap straps)... bens cycle comes in second w/ MKS straps (they're good until they get wet) for $45

here you go with all up to date pedals from MKS.

Ok the RX1 are the top dog of the line , They don't have anything (Hole) for double toe straps

The Custom Nuevos are on my bike in Japan and SMOOTH like the RX1 but can use double straps.

Plus another old model not listed , I will do that later If they didn't lock or ban me as requested.

Photos are from Business Cycles!

talked to business cycles today, and it turns out that the custom unique pedals are basically the sylvans w/ an NJS stamp, except they dont come in black. I kept my sylvans. May upgrade later. Thanks guys.

Really, I would look at the pics again. I have 3 of the models show and the body is different, they are lighter and removable plates. Alot more than just a stamp.

Don't take my word on it, go find a shop that have them. If I had all three here I would send it to you for a test run.

Maybe when I return, send me email and If you haven't got any by Feb 06 , I will send you mine to test out. Just return them.

Yes I am kool like that!

I appreciate the offer, but its not that big of a deal. Im aware that the RX-1, Custom Nuevo, and Royal Nuevo have different cages and are lighter, but according to john "you pay the extra $20 for the stamp" for the custom unique pedals.

I will try to find an lbs that carries them to check them out in person, but there arent too many around my hood.

I have a pair of MKS GR-9's. They feel really small with my size 12 shoes. Does anyone with a bigger foot use 'em? What about the MKS Custom Nuevos? Are they wider?
Thanks

Are the Royal Nuevos sealed loose ball bearings and the Custom Nuevos sealed sealed cartridge bearings?
