Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i've done that. a few weeks ago i was riding at 2am without lights and a guy almost doored me. i slammed the door closed on him and felt kinda bad cause i'm sure he didn't see me due to lack of lights, but i gotta survive.

Done that a couple of times myself. We have parking spots all along one of the busiest bike lanes in the city. The bike lane is btw the parking "lane" and the sidewalk. Great idea, eh? Mostly, I did it with an educational purpose. I could have stopped or squeezed in, but why would I have?

yeah hes been around for a long ass time and yeah he can spin fast. but when the only event you do is just the goldsprints and nothing else, then talk like you own the world, and talk down to anyone who wants learn something from him. then you lose all respect for what he has done and said.

Re the king of messengers vid: do you guys rush that much? I mean, he hits the elevator button 6 times as nervously as if he was rushing to see his wife give birth to his first son or something. He has that nervous twitch all the time he's in the building... runs off from the client like the building's on fire.

I do some messin', but that's sooo much more mellow. Admittedly, fixed pay and 5-8 packages to deliver in 5 hours changes the equasion
