Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I've heard about this, but this video simply lays it down. I'm going to be looking around for THEM at my next local CM.

Yep. Just look for the clowns on shiny department store bikes with political buttons made with the office printer.

Is there any justification for this sort of police behaviour? I thought the U.S. was just scared of brown people these days ... when did they decide that protesters on bicycles were a threat to national security?

In Toronto, CM is just what it is ... a monthly ride to give better visibility to cyclists and make a point about safety issues that cyclists have to contend with. I see the insane police presence, all the stereotypical bull**** arrests and surveilance, but why?

- eyefloater

Edit: what I'm looking for here is are there any incidents in NYC of people involveed with CM going out and commiting violent acts, being involved with violent organizations that were directly related to CM, etc. All this police action seems to be coming out of nowhere, and frankly looks like a waste of time and effort.
