At age 67, I feel my brain is younger, more vibrant now than it was 20 years ago. There is a reason for this, and it's due to alcohol. I drink in moderation, and this has really helped my brain. It's kind of like a herd of buffalo thundering across the tundra. The youngest, strongest buffalo are at the head of the herd, the weakest, oldest, sickest buffalo are straggling, running at the back and just barely hanging on. What buffalo does the wolf go after and kill? The youngest, strongest? No! The weakest, sickest, the oldest. Same thing with the brain. The brain has strong, vibrant cells and weak, sick old cells. Alcohol, like the wolf, doesn't attack the strongest, youngest cells. Alcohol attacks and kills the weakest cells, leaving the strongest cells to survive and prosper. Therefore, at age 67, the more alcohol I drink, the smarter I get. ;-)

I'm 24, and where I come from, we would say either "how old yall is?" or "how old are you'ze".

Thankfully college algebra was a course I passed long enough ago that I don't have to remember any of it. |

Were I a gambling man, I would've pushed my chips at the mid-20s. Surprising, but also strangely comforting. "Beer: The New Glucosamine?" |

Um, a couple of flaws: 1) The weaker are typically in the center of the herd - the stronger ones circle around them to keep them safe. 2) You assume that alcohol has some level of intelligence and chooses the weaker cells. As far as I know, alcohol isn't all that smart. |
