Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I befriended a pro photographer that had a D100 he wasn't using so he gave it to me. I couldn't have afforded it otherwise. It's more than $500 for my setup. I just got real REAL lucky.

me & my bike

me and my bike, my bike and me,
roll together down street 'neath shade of tree,
past houses, and buses, and cars, go we,
both me and my bike, and my bike and me.

me with my bike, and my bike with me,
brave the traffic that never seems us to see,
face the size and the smog of the SUV
and through it all get to where we gotta be.

I think that bikes are better, you see,
both for soul and cardio-vascular-ly,
plus for the air, and each bird and bee,
that we pass together, both my bike and me.

me and my bike, and my bike and me,
go on down the road, go on down the steet,
join us! we'll travel quite happily,
when we go by bike, and go biking shall we.

Off topic, but isn't that Tokina lens just about the cheapest wide angle lens you can buy? $170 at B&H... My relatively domestic 28mm prime Nikkor was more. With pictures like the above coming from a $170 lens, one has to question those internet photo-lords with their snobbish pictures of pets from their $4G wunderlense.

Nice picture... Very nice. I know I don't use my timer nearly enough.

On the subject of cheap lenses and fisheyes, I am awaiting arrival of my 8mm Peleng lens. Then I've got my sights set on a 105mm macro...

YES!

It's been a great lens so far. I haven't had any problems. You can't beat that price either. I have a macro that I use for some product shots. Very cool to use for a change sometimes.
