I was considering buying a used road bike to convert to fixed. I read a post where someone was converting a Moto Mirage that had a Swiss threaded BB shell. I guess from what others posted that a replacement BB for that bike would be difficult to locate because of the threading. What bikes should I avoid so as to not encounter that or similar problems?

anything with a french sounding name from about pre-1983.
