valentine's day ride.

i'm thinking it might be cool to try to put together a ride here in pdx for valentine's day. make it a little of a "bring your sweetie out for a ride" sort of thing, a little of a "meet other cycling people" thing (but not a damn dating service), but make the overarching theme of it the st. valentine's day massacre. in chicago, you could use old gangster hangouts, etc, to make a fun alleycat, but in portland, i'm not sure what to do. a bit more of a poker ride idea? what to do there? i've got a bunch of ideas, but nothing cohesive. i think it's a decent idea, but i don't know where to go from the idea stage. i've had the idea for, you know...nigh on 20 minutes now.

this thread is SEVERLY offensive to people who are asexual and those without a significant other.

hee hee...i was sort of wanting to downplay those aspects of the day, hence the st. valentine's day massacre thing i wanted to go with...but i realize it's hard to get away from those things on that day, and recognizing it a little and bringing bikes into it could be fun.

i'd be down if it was more along the lines of..oh say a.."**** valentines day" ride? Seriously, dumbest holiday ever. The only good thing that valentines day ever did was force the creation of Steak & BJ day

ha ha ha...yeah, i'm not a big fan of it. mostly due to commercial aspects of it. that and christmas.

i dunno, this is a new idea, i just want to get something together a little different than your usual ride or alleycat. give me all the input you have.
