Candlelite (way, way up Western, in Rogers Park) has my favorite Chicago thin-crust. Really good fries tossed with garlic and red wine vinegar, too.
To this day, my favorite pizza memory is of Pizzeria Regina in Boston, Mass. I ate there when I was about six, and again when I was 18, and haven't been back since, but...damn, the thought KILLS me. |
DiFara's in NYC was a good call by boots. Love that stuff. Nicks in Queens-Forest Hills is good too.
I also love Dino's Bocce Club pizza in Buffalo, NY, possibly more than any pie. |
jumbo slice here is nasty but necessary.
good pizza comes from Pizzaria Paradiso, Matchbox, or Ella's Wood Fire. |
in portland, pizzicato is expensive, but delicious. for cheaper pizza, capt. ankeny's well has delicious pizza, and on wednesdays, all beers on tap are 2.50 a pint, so it's half price for some of them.
pizza schmizza is also good, and i have yet to try pizza oasis. in boise, if ever you're there, guido's on 5th downtown...cheap slices...not the biggest, but delicious. basil pie--yum. |
in Venice CA.- Abbot Kinney Pizza
|
around here it's peppers pizza. great slices, plenty of vegetarian toppings, and one of the best house salads i've had anywhere. down the street, it's italian pizzeria III, or 'IPIII' for short. great place owned and run by an italian family...just don't try to get in when world cup soccer is on.

There's also a place in Manhattan called Slice that has vegan organic pizza... havent tried it out yet. Saw it on food network though. |
SE PDX: Flying Pie
Uber good after about a 75 mile ride that included a 14 mile ascent. Good times. |
i have to try out rovente's sometime. i hear their garlic pizza is perfect for a garlic lover like myself. i say too much garlic is, well...almost enough. almost.
|
Pie-eyed gave a sh(tload of free pizza for the meet n' greet. +++++
Pequods carmelized crust is the sh*t. Pete's on Western and Mama Luna's way west on Fullerton were my favorite growing up. Still pretty good. |
san diego-

I'm choosing to ignore the heretic who said Hi-Fi is good pizza (good if you're drunk at 2am, maybe). Instead, I'll second the vote for Emma's as best pizza in Cambridge. You gotta love sweet potato on pizza! Best cheap slice is Pinnocchio's in Harvard Square. Get the sicilian-style spinach! Best pizza in Boston is Regina's, the original. Best cheap pizza is New York Pizza on Tremont Street. Worst cheap pizza is Natalie's in Allston. Unless you're drunk at 2am, that is. |
F*ck pizza its all about bagels, Lower manhattan is all about bagels on the square, 24 hour bagel place with a million different types of cream cheese. Brooklyn is all about bagels on bedford, right in the middle of williamsburg, awesome constantly warm bagels covereddddd in cream cheese.....**** I want a bagel.

grimaldi's under the brooklyn bridge is pretty fantastic too. |
Rhode Island has a new spot on Thayer called Nice Slice. New York style pizza, with a great art theme to it. Shepard Fairy (Obey) did a lot of the artwork in there, including metal sculptures, and large silkscreened posters. The boxes are all silkscreened by hand with different local artists designs. Plus, they offer a whole bunch of vegan slices.

Pizza Metro - as stated above, there's also one at ashland and agusta. Lil Guys - Damen and Armitage Pequods - Webster and Clybourn....it's deep dish, but damn good deep dish. Bloomington, IN: for you MLPROJECT I hope you've been to Rockets next to the Bluebird. I miss those pizza slices and breadsticks every day of my life. |
