Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

**** taking off your bar tape just to remove your bars. **** the fact that you cannot fix your threaded hs on the road. **** they two huge gawky wrenches you need for what should be simple adjustment with a 5mm allen key. **** trying to find a threaded fork that fits your steer tube. **** helping idiots to retrieve their quill stem wedge when it gets dropped and seized at the bottom of their steer tube.

And most of all, **** this whole argument. Threaded is clearly inferior, and people like it because of bling. What a ****ing stupid thing to argue about.

removable face plates aren't unique to threadless. you can easily fix your threaded headset on the road, not that you should have to. you have to cut threadless forks just like you have to cut threaded ones, unless you want 4 inches of spacers above your stem.

indeed, **** this argument. threaded is easily just as functional as threadless. similar enough to justify one's preference of quill stems on the basis of aesthetics. they both work. to each their own, it seems.

Do you lack opposing thumbs or was your ex-partner into threadless setups?
