Nothing spectacular, just wanted to show how the british racing green came out. The pics don't represent the true shade at all. Oh well.
Trying to decide if I should keep the original green fork or use the GFs chromie resting againgst the hub. Let me know what you think.

How much paint did you end up using? More than one can? I have to say, just from looking at the photos, that i like how it came out and i personally like the green fork, but whaddya askin' us for? We don't gotta ride it

about 1/3 can of primer, less than 3/4 can of paint, and maybe 1/8 can of clear. It actually looks a little better in person. I rushed the clear job, but I can always go over it later.

cool! I read some old threads on rattlecan paint jobs (see, i use the search function!) that complained about lots of paint being lost to overspray, but it sounds like you got the skillz...rock on.

Is that a pista you've got there? If the other fork is a lugged one, I'd go with that one. I'm not a big fan of the pista fork.

I'd go with the chrome fork. especially if it's lugged and/or straight. from what I can tell it apears to be both.

yeah, chrome for shizzy. i like that color of green, but the chrome will, i think, add a lil' something. and if not, you'll still have the green one. but i like the chrome.

Chrome..and some riders protect paint with waxes over clearcoat.
I say chrome as it'll go with the silver components.
I like black and silver with green, very neutral cool color.

Odd, I really dislike it as a color for mtb's. Looks nice on a road bike.

Thanks guys. No, its not a pista. I do have a few years of basic painting experience on racetrucks and jeeps so rattlecan stuff comes pretty easily. I'll probably get it powedercoate after a few months if NYC uglies it up too much.
The chromie steerier is a little long and is probably going onto the GFs bianchi out of laziness. I really don't like this stem and the one I want to use is now 900 miles away. Oh well. Big box of parts waiting downstairs.

Meh, I only built this b/c my racebike is falling to pieces riding in the city. No need for super small rakes unless I end up riding the track.

Nah, more cheap than anything. Don't want to spend any more cash on a fork when I have two useable ones in front of me. I feel really comfortable in traffic with my racebike (read:roadbike), so getting there isn't a need for super aggressive geometry. The frame is already along the lines of 73/73.5 so it should be plenty agile.
Thanks for the offer though. I'll let you know if I need something in the future.

I say grab the chrome fork, and cut the steerer tube to fit.
