Chicago - Menage-a-time-trial tomorrow morning?

Steak and I are meeting up at the Starbucks across from Yojimbos at 10am to ride the upcoming Menage-A-Time-Trial. We plan on keeping a snails pace, so if you have a cup holder you can mount on your bars to hold your venti mochaccino frappaloo you should bring it.

Yeah. 10am. Starbucks by Yojimbos. Peace.

Northbound at around 10 was pretty fierce, staying at 2/3 my normal speed out there was rough going. Southbound a little after noon you could have spread your arms and sailed.

I think I saw some people out scouting the route, anybody else pass the guy walking the tri bike rather than face the wind?

The wind coming back North was pretty bad but nowhere near as bad as the wind on Elston last Sunday.

Contemplating a fixer... I've been riding a cyclocross bike forever. If Hot Dougs is part of riding a SS in Chicago, I'm in for sure!

Yes but only if we ride MLK one of the ways, it is Martin Luther King Day after all.

EDIT: what time are you thinking? 10am?

Seriously? I rode MLK last night around 2am and loved it. But it was 2am and it was only me and the occasional unhoused outside. I rode it there and took LFP back, see MLK has a steady 3% grade downhill to 51st and always seems to have a wind from the north. So I only ride it south. Honest.

I had more problems on the north side: (1) division st apparently some happening nightlife at 1:30am, there were two seperate drunk girls who thought I was a twelve year old running away from home or something (2)How do I get from Division -> LFP? I took some ped-walkway at chicago and there were stairs and urine everywhere. Unawesome would be an understatement.
