Midnite Ridazz was amazing.
If you live in L.A. and ride a bike, even occasionally, you owe it to yourself to check this out. Last night was my first time and I sorta thought maybe there'd be 40-50 people or something. I had no idea it would be more like 350!!! I was actually dumbstruck (what else is new)most of the ride by the sheer number of people, seemingly representing every imaginable corner of bike culture and social background, who turned up and took over the streets. It was also cool to meet some other BForumites and see some of the amazing bikes you ride. I took some shots and will throw them up but it was impossible to get a perspective on the size of the crowd in my tiny viewfinder.
Thanks to the Bicycle Kitchen and other folks who make it happen. Can't wait for the next one...

i didn't hang out after the ride either, but i did meet kyle(i think) and prodigal son.
my only critique would be that rides should finish back at the start point then hit the party spot from there.
one of the coolest things was the sections everyone was quiet and all you could hear was the sound of many tires rolling on pavement...

Yeah, they used to do a loop, which was nice. The worst was during BikeSummer when it would end in Culver City. I mean, I guess it's cool if you live on the west side, but it was horrible for us east-siders.
The aftermath was amazing. Kyle, John and I went roaming around the streets from party to party until 5am, then just as we were about to crash (7am), Kyle decides to do the 10-hill climb on no sleep and a semi-buzz. I hope he's not dead.
Kyle, if you're not dead, please reply.

Two nights ago after coming home from work a bit earlier than usual and prepping my bike for next morning's early ride, my step-daughter calls me from Wallgreens just before 10pm and tells me "hey, there's a thousand bikers out here, some with no gears like your bike....."
