Hey guys, be easy...we all know its a great speech, never said it wasn't. But should we get in the habit of posting every great speach for every holiday? I'm as big a fan of the good Doctor King as anybody but this belongs in either the political or general forum. Just saying. All of these changed the course of history:
April 3rd- The Ballot or the Bullet(Malcom X)
June 26th- Kennedy's Berlin Address
Oct. 22nd- Cuban Missle Crisis(Quarintine of Cuba)
Nov. 3rd- Address to the Nation on Vietnam
Nov. 19th- Gettysburgh Address
Dec. 2nd- Monroe Doctrine
Dec 8th- War on Japan("Date which will live in infamy")
...I could go on. I'm not trying to be *******. Just telling it like it is.

[QUOTE=kurremkarm]It actually isnt relevent. But wtf. Since it's here can I say that this was a highlight for the united states and both white and black people. But what would MLK think of the rap and hip hop culture where women are *****es and people want to get mine?QUOTE]
i saw boondocks sunday where MLK was only in a coma and woke up 35 years later to see what the culture has turned into, and told everyone off, in short, saying, '**** you guys, im going to canada!'

Great speech by a great man. Too bad him, Malcom X, JFK and Bobby Kennedy, and Medgar Evers all died violent deaths. IMO, we're even further away today from the meaning and principles of the Constitution than we were when MLK made that speech. Hippies may be made fun of today, but at least they realized that the country was headed in the wrong direction and spoke out about it. Today, the authorities are intent on discouraging protests and right-wing idiots shout down opposing viewpoints by claiming them to be "UnAmerican" rather than encourage healthy debate. For a country born amid protest and revolution, this argument that Americans don't love America is the dumbest thing I've ever heard and yet, it makes sense to so many people.

it's funny how he talks about poverty, injustice, and things that are still going on. white americans talk about him like he cured the country's racism, when the poverty and injustice and police brutality he talked about then is only a little better today. sad.
and whoever mentioned hip hop, that's hardly all hip hop, but i see your point.
