Hey (west) philly kids

In the thread about philly bike shops some people were discussing the spring garden gang(and others) gettin together for a night of cruisin and boozin, but it just sort of dwindled off. Jason's NE thread makes me think we should do it officially out here.(and of course have a thug-off with the NE gang where we wrap our wrists together with a toestrap and knife-fight ala Michael Jackson's "Bad" video). But seriously... lets get out and meet the other West Philly BF members next weekend. Its supposed to be 50 and not rainy. Thoughts?

Can we just unite the west, south, north, and north east into one ride/hang-out? Or I could just migrate between the groups.

Haha! of COURSE we can unite!! I was just trying to get the other guys that said they lived out here on S.G. to make good on their offer to get together for forties. If none of them speak up in this thread ill just keep up on the NE one and see if I can make it. I jsut thought it would be funny to have different "sects" of the same group and have contests, races, etc where we all wear our cardinal direction's color and such.

thursdays: meet in front of love park at 10pm and slow 5 and then a fast 20 if you can handle it.

right there with ya 'rik. sounds like a blast. and knife-fights? anytime, anywhere. and skelly, i wanted to try to get some city hall laps in, but a few kids said it was too far away. i dunno, not my inclination. if we want to do city hall. name a time. i'm there.

I have enough problems navigating eakins oval on my daily commute... Ive certainly come the closest to dying there more than anywhere else.

im all for cruisin and boozin but alas for those of us under the age of legal alcohol consumption, or for those fo us who got thier fake ids taken at the state store, boozing might be more difficult

Sure.. you can subdivide things infinitely, but its much easier to think of things as center city, then the area west of it, south of it, norht of it, and NE of it.

Is that still going on... as in tonight? I haven't been out to one of those things since the Summer. If it's still a regular event I might show up tonight.

P.S. 35th and Lancaster representin'! An ex-coworker of mine used to live around 38th and Lancaster. One day he was chilling out with a bunch of people in his living room when a group of thugs armed with various instruments (such as baseball bats and possibly a few guns) literally busted down his door spouting various threats like, "We're gonna git you!" However, once inside, the thugs exchanged confused looks, appologized, and left, as they had apparently entered the wrong house. I love West Philly!
