Brake reach question
So this has been disscused before but my issue is a little different. I did the old 700c wheel on a 27" fork and obviously can't find brakes that fit. The measurement from the mounting hole to the center fo the rim is 65mm so the "long reach" calipers wont work as they only reach 57mm and bmx brakes are a little too long as they start around 70mm. Besides buying a dropbolt thing, does anyone know of brakes that will reach 65mm?

There are also some BMX brakes that work in the range you want, they are cheap and also a little flexy. For example Tektro 61-70mm BMX brake.

I know that Kogswell made really long reach brakes, but they stopped at 64mm, so probably may be too close for comfort.
This is probably your best bet if you can find one:

yea, I had the same problem. I have an old centrepull diacompe brake. adjusted correctly, the braking power is pretty good. not perfect, but enough to get you out of sketchy situations while keeping you from becoming dependent.
the bmx brakes fixedpip mentions are prolly your best bet.

Old Weinman center pulls are actually pretty decent brakes, and they are plentiful.
