Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

congrats on discovering the obvious.
Anyway, some Columbia kids are staring fixed races in Central Park, and there's the thing in Boston on the 11th. Race both.

only thing to do is keep on ridin' that rascal! as everyone knows, it'll turn into a custom cheeklovin' piece o' leather sooner or later. and then you'll find true happiness, pure undifferentiated consciousness, and satori!

happy everything to everybody!! (even mtb's )

Bikes: Pake fixie. Klein Reve (for sale, https://www.theveer.net/gordons_klein)

I just put my B17 on my Pake. Tangible improvement already, although it usually takes me a few hundred miles and some raising and lowering and toing and froing to find the final sweet spot.

Probably staring mid/late Feb. because there is so much bike stuff happening right now. There are about 10 Columbia students ready to ride, but I don't want it to be a school club.
What days are most people free?
We'll probably have some sort of general meet-n-greet of riders to discuss bikes and shoot the shlt, take some easy laps, and then we can have a pick-up criterium afterwards.
PM me your Email address and I'll keep you updated.

Have you looked outside your window? I'm headed to CP right now.

I'm just starting to ride my Brooks, and it sure ain't broken in to my sit bones yet, but for me even the shape is comfortable, so I'm fine on hourlong rides with no breakin. I sense the beginning of a long and happy relationship.

3 or 4 times real thin coats. i think if ya grease 'er up too often it'll soften too much. just don't let it get dry. i see a lot o' brookskies (hey, angel!! ) on the street that their owners let get all dry an' cracked an' ***** and it makes me sad cause a cow died for that saddle, pardner . so keep 'em moist, fellers!!! and keep on ridin' leather! as someone pointed out earlier, brookskies ain't overrated! word.

happy everything to everybody!!
