2nd-ed, thrid-ed and fourth-ed

illustrator , baby..

or post that in that ugly photoshop tennis thread

its called vector, its your friend.. it made battlezone cool.. and it'll make your design cool

humancongereel 02-03-06 03:32 AM

dude, i want to see what bridgestoneboy hated. maybe he was only reinforcing your own insecurities? post it!

MLPROJECT 02-03-06 10:12 AM

who cares what you're using to make your work... its how you use it and what you come up with. programs only really dictate and work with your final medium.

usually i would agree on a million diff. subjects.. and sure.. i like that photoshoped art someone posted.. but think of it more like trying to get a lockring off with a hammer and a screwdriver.. i love photoshop.. i use it all the time.. but if you do text in it.. it will look worse.. if you give it to a printer its going to look worse.. and if you got hired to do a professional job.. and you send them a .psd? you might not get hired again.. and if you hand draw stuff and scan it.. and havent discovered streamline and illustrator.. you need to get on that..

onetwentyeight 02-03-06 12:05 PM

Real men handcut text out of rubylith.

MLPROJECT 02-03-06 12:06 PM

yes... text for print in photoshop is a bad idea... but this goes back to my main point: use your tools for the intended outcome so you can create your deliverables in the correct file format and style for the output, whether it be offset, plotter cut vinyl or a xerox machine.

hell, deanne cheuk brings in tons of organic processes for Tokion's type treatments. you can make whatever work for whatever you want as long as you understand what your production requires in file integrity and compatability.

MLPROJECT 02-03-06 12:07 PM

i got a box of rubilyth from the printer i worked at since they're all direct to plate now and it is currently doing duty as stencil material.

onetwentyeight 02-03-06 12:08 PM

Thats what its for! I miss screenprinting. Now that I've finished my bike I'm wasting my money on building myself a set up so I can print again.

sloppy robot 02-03-06 12:13 PM

theres a screen place in l.a. that gives you a burned screen for about $15 if you bring art.. ive been screening up a storm.. i havent rubylithed in along time but its fun for sure..

ml.. do you work at tokion? ah.. i re read that.. never mind.. you live in IN..how are the cutters
