internet message boards don't get me worked up or mad (unlike some posters, it seems), but i don't mind a new discussion of hubs or headsets or bags or cranks now and then.

new stuff comes on to the market, different people try different equipment and have fresh viewpoints, etc.

I have these things called "self-control" and "half-decent judgment" that allow me to see a thread entitled, "Bottle opener" and know that I'm probably not really going to care too much about what's happening therein. You should look into getting those things for yourself so you can a) resist the urge to read threads that might offend your delicate sensibilities and b) stop posting idiotic threads like this one.

The only thing this thread accomplished was that it made go back and read the bottle opener thread. So kudos to you for calling that guy a "faaaeeeegg" or whatever cleverly mispelled homophobic slur it was that you used; it was really classy. Thanks for making such positive contributions to the forum in the 3 seconds you've been here. You're off to a great start.

Who made you the arbiter of what kind of forum this will be? Some people like the sense of community the forum has developed. Why don't you start your own 'serious inquiries only' forum, and then make sure noone posts anything but specifications and business-like answers. And don't tell me 'if you think this forum is a community you need a life', as I already have a life but not that many people who can answer my detailed bike questions. If I talked about bikes with my friends as much as I'd like they'd probably tell me to go shove a crank somewhere.

you just made me want to read the bottle opener thread ive been skipping.. im here for the drama, period. .. i still havent really figured out what you all mean by "fixed" .. i thought there already was a mechanics forum?

Note that while there have only been about 40 posts, there have been over 600 views.

The moral of the story is that not everyone wants to play with you guys, because their mums told them you were all bad.
