i have a good idea who did it but with no hard proof i have no legal
recourse and id like to stay at the job thru march so as for now i have
to just accept it.
after that i think iam moving on, looking like iam gonna try messengering.
also starting to get more paying photo gigs as well so it might be a push in the
right direction.

I had two spokecards get stolen a little over 2 weeks ago. If I see them on anyone's bike, I'm pulling out my pliers and clipping the spokes on their rear wheel. If they are on a bike, they are getting chased down, knocked off, and then pants'd.

I liked those spoke cards, and if you can't tell, I'm still pissed off.

I had a spoke cards stolen from my bike from an alleycat I threw, but becasue of really ****ty weather and the short notice only 6 people showed. so naturally I knew all the bikes that should of had them. A few days later I saw a new pista with my spoke card in it, really confused and amazed I wanted to pull out my spoke wrench and take the spokes holding it in, but instead I just replaced it with a piece of paper saying I was taking it back and what I was going to do to the wheel if it ended up in there again.

someone stole my front brake pads yesterday

at first i thought they wanted to take the wheel, because the brake cable was out of the caliper

when i put the cable back in, it was so wierd, i couldn't figure out why the brakes weren't working

it took about 5 minutes to figure out the pads were gone, then i was really pissed, especially since the place i parked on 26th st in manhattan was visible from my window. i don't know what i would have done if i saw the guy. probably better i didn't.

now i think he did me a favor. those were tektro pads and they sucked. spongy as hell, and no matter how hard i pulled the lever and how well they were adjusted, it would bottom out before i got maximum braking. is this a "safety" feature so that i don't flip my bike? i'm gonna order some kool stops now.

To be honest, I've seen FG dudes with spoke cards on their wheel & it looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the good old days when I stuck a handball in the spokes of my BMX bike.....ride to the park, play some handball and put it back on the spokes & ride home afterwards. Damn, those days were good.

What would you guys do if you see a roadie with spoke cards? Would you laugh and call us "poseurs"? lol.

Sorry for the rant.
My theory "Cuz they are pretty".

To add to the Not Spokecard category.... When I built up my Kona SS MTB I cut up a Anniversary Lone Star can to use as a headbadge. Did that to cover up my bad touch ups. It fell off on the trails, so I put another one one. I changed the knobbie to slicks, and used it for commuting. Someone actually took it off the bike. To me it was a total WTF. The only part that sucks, they went back to the normal can. At least I took a picture.

I guess I have to do a search for alleycat (unless someone wants to briefly explain to me what it is). I'm assuming it's some get together or something right? A race perhaps?

And what's up with the spokecard? Do you win them? Do you earn them through respect? When it gets warmer, I'll ride out to PP on Thursday night races to observe the FG culture.

Crayonsemble, you can work 9-5 and still do that. You've just got to learn to pull off disco naps.

That said, I have yet to have anything stolen, but I did come out of work one day to find my light mount loosened. But not even the part that goes around the seatpost. Someone decided to unscrew the part the light attaches to, that can be adjusted up and down.
