Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Miche cogs - a question and an observation

Hi,
Just got my miche cogs - the machining is allright but I run into some problem - while one of them can be tightened with the lockring which came with the hub, the other one wobbles a lot. At first, I thought it was one of the lockrings, being hand made was a tiny bit smaller, but it turned out that the tolerances allow swaping the cogs between the carriers, yet relatively narrow lockrings do not lock one just of them.

I do not intend to use the alu lockrings which come with the hub with miche cogs - due to the construction of the carriers/cogs there is not enough support to trust steel/alu interface.

Here is my question: anybody is using miche carrier/cog system with alloy lockrings? If yes, your opinion on longevity is appreciated.

Cheers,
v.
