Mud, Sweat and Gears

Is this place legit?
I just ordered something from them Sunday night and have yet to receive a shipping confirmation.
I called yesterday and just now with no answer.
I'm starting to get worried.

chicagoamdream 02-08-06 09:21 AM

Hmm...was it the 75s? I'm thinking of ordering them too.

marcelinyc 02-08-06 09:23 AM

would be a good idea to post this question saturday...

hyperRevue 02-08-06 09:37 AM

Why saturday?

marcelinyc 02-08-06 09:39 AM

because it comes before sunday

hyperRevue 02-08-06 09:39 AM

Ah, yes.

shants 02-08-06 09:46 AM

that store seems dicey. i'm sure you'll get your ****, but i'd much rather pay like $5 extra and go through aebike, who is extremely fast and totally amazing.

queerpunk 02-08-06 09:48 AM

huh. they raised their price on the 75's.

Could you shoot me a link.
I can't seem to find the 75s on their site.

chicagoamdream 02-08-06 09:54 AM

$180 w/ chainring. Still pretty good.

hyperRevue 02-08-06 09:56 AM

Thanks.
I wish I could get a hold of MSG either to confirm shipping or to just cancel my order.

chicagoamdream 02-08-06 10:00 AM

That's so frustrating. I won't be ordering from them.

I ordered a KryptoMini last year from www.BicycleSource.US, who were horrible to work with. The only way you could get in touch with them was to e-mail your phone number, and someone would call you 2-3 days later (at which point it was too late to do anything).

LoveParkRIP 02-08-06 10:04 AM

I odered 170mm Sugino 75's from them about two weeks ago. It came in the mail less than a week from when I placed my order.

The price on the 170mm version was $157 when I got them. Must have went up.

This place is fine. They priority mailed the cranks to me, and when I called to check the status of my order, they told me when I should expect them.

Jose R 02-08-06 10:12 AM

I've ordered from MS and G. No problems. Don't remember a shipping confirmation, but I don't really worry about those things.

hyperRevue 02-08-06 10:15 AM

Thanks Jose and LovePark.
I'll just be more patient and maybe they'll show up at my door in the next couple of days.

Yeah, I was gonna order 170mm but when I saw that the price went up I decided just to go 165mm.

LoveParkRIP 02-08-06 10:18 AM

Yeah dude. We all get anxious waiting for stuff in the mail. Especially bike parts. If these people weren't legit, they wouldn't be in business. I'd give em a good review.

You're kidding, right?

i am in the same boat, i just ordered mine on monday - no shipping confirmation, but it sounds like they are legit (fingers crossed).

hyperRevue 02-08-06 10:58 AM

I just talked to a guy on the phone.
He said he was going to look up my order and call me back.
So, we shall see.

socalrider 02-08-06 11:39 AM

I have bought from them several times with no issues.. It seems they have 1 shipping guy so sometimes orders take a couple days to ship out.. They use usps priority mail most of the time.. This is the email address I used for customer service: sales@bikeusa.com

Jesse M 02-08-06 01:51 PM

i got a pair of 165mm sugino 75s from them for christmas. i can't give you much of a review, as i wasn't the one that handled the order, but everything got here fine and on time.

hyperRevue 02-08-06 02:06 PM

Update #2.
Called MS&G again.
Order will be shipped today and should arrive friday or saturday.
No worries.

nausea95 02-08-06 02:27 PM

When I ordered a set, I got the automatic initial e-mail that basically tells you the order was accepted by their server or however that works. I e-mailed them a few days later, no response. Called them a few days after that and they said they were on their way but they don't pay for USPS tracking info. I got them the next day. Paid $8 shipping, don't know if the handling of this shipment (it was shipped in one of those free priority boxes) was really worth $3 but whatever, still cheaper than some other places.

hyperRevue 02-08-06 02:29 PM

Their lack of shipping notification/tracking number/response to emails leaves a lot to be desired.
But, overall, they seem pretty standup.

hyperRevue 02-10-06 07:08 PM

Just wanted to give the final update.
Just received my 75s this afternoon.
They shipped them on Wednesday, so that's a pretty damn good turn around time.
So, if there were any questions about MS&G, I just wanted to dispel them.
