Deep V Color Choice

Just want some opinions here.

I am going to ge getting a set of velocity deep Vs for my pista. I've got the chrome version. I have a black brooks saddle and black bar tape (which could always be changed). WHich color rims do you think would look best??

I was thinking black--but they do not really stand out---how would the blue look?

Everything goes with chrome.
Get whatever color you like.

Haha, no, of course you're going to "get what you prefer."
I just meant that no color will really look better than any other color, since Chrome is pretty universal.

i have a really colorful pista.

celeste wrap, yellow/silver fizik saddle, black setback seatpost, yellow candy pedals, pink tires on pink aeroheads on pink phils.

those wheels'll soon move to another bike though and the pista will get green deepvs on black phils with yellow tires. i'll change the wrap and maybe the saddle when i do that.

but yeah... chrome goes with everything.

Bikes: Bridgesetone RB-1 fixie, Surly CrossCheck, Surly Instigator, Salsa AlaCarte, Bianchi Timberwolf SS

Spend the extra $$$ and get the mirrored ones! (it'd look awful, but then you'd put the old bianchi saddle on and remove your grip tape and could blind people)

Are you going to build them? If so, I recomend not getting black, it's so hard to see into them to line the nipples with the spokes.... it's all black, black, black...

Otherwise, black is awesome, IMHO.

What?
I just built a set of all black wheels and have no idea what you're talking about.

fwiw, i think the eggplant color is pretty cool -- deep purple that's pretty close to black in some lighting conditions. low key personalization, if that's what you're after.

there's a bike i've seen around portland here i really love. blue frame (i know, yours is chrome, but there's nothing chrome doesn't go with, as noted). yellow bar tape, yellow deep v's, blue tires, if i remember right. i keep wanting to take a picture, it's really lovely.

If you have the Champion stripes (red yellow black white?) I would get one of those colours. If you have the model with the white panels I would get white. Black would look nice, but its like a pair of black shoes, who doesn't have some?

Real Ultimate Power would be Celeste Deep V's with Celeste bartape with Celeste look pedals with Celeste Vittoria's. Snap dizzle.

yo,
pista props!
mine is all celeste, black and chrome. My deep V's are black, and my tires are black w/ celeste side walls. the black rims really make the celeste sidewalls stand out.
Of course, black works with anything, white might match the decals if you've still got em (I Jascoed mine off) but I would reccomend against blue or purple as I think dark colors and black don't mix too well.
So I'd say, go with black, white or a bright color.
my 2 cents

btw, I have a terrific sense for colors

I think a lot of colors can go well with chrome as long as the rest of the bike is accented in the same color scheme... for instance if you built the bike with steel drops... red keirin grips... red phils... red deep v's and a red saddle with some red vittoria rubino's you would have a pretty interesting looking bike what with all the chrome and red going on.... just an example I guess.
