To speak for WK, the OP said "'Riding Fixed' is being expanded and reprinted" and provided no explanation of what it actually is.
So, without any such explanation, the outpouring of interest does seem odd.

This is hardly my thing, but I doubt WK's comment was directed at you solely.

got an email from the fixed gear gallery. The book is being proofread one final time then going to the printers, which they think will be today, maybe tomorrow, and certainly sometime this week.
My guess is they will be ready for sale in one week.

from Denis at the FGG.
"Hey,
Can you believe it? We're actually at the printer. Proof late tomorrow"
we should be ready to go very soon.

Plus one to the guy who said he'd pass because he didn't like Mayo. At least he's honest and puts up what he really thinks.
If anyone can, do a search for "Riding Fixed" and I"m sure you'll see all the dramarama here that went with the book. It's a cool book and no kid should be with out it. And you're all kids.
Even you 165. Except you're a punk kid.

Only 20 pages to wade through. If you add "book" it narrows it down, but does not produce anything useful. If anyone ever bothers to describe it, I might be interested. If it's just another Fixed Gear 101 I'm not interested.

umm, not to beat a dead horse or anything, but with all the bumped Mayonnaise posts lately it's gotten me interested in the book. Is it exclusively the stuff from BFSSFG or is there more? While $14 to ffg for the book isn't a ton of money necessarily it is enough for me to want to be sure what I'm buying.

JUST FOR YOU:
Buy it. If you don't like it. Ship it to me and I'll send you CASH to cover it's cost AND your shipping to me.
My word I'll cover it if you don't like it.
How's that?
But if you do like it, you've got to do some good karma action for someone, in a manner how you choose.

Dennis at Fixed Gear Gallery contacted me a year or so ago and asked about reprinting the book that was originally midwifed by this forum.
Two things had happened. The buzz had died down and I had kept writing. It seemed like the right time to update and expand on the original idea. Dennis’ son had some layout and print experience and the FGG had real presence in the internet fixed gear community. It was a logical choice to reprise the effort with them.
The new version is nicer. The paper is of better quality with a thicker, glossier cover than before and it is greatly expanded: a total of 12 stories over the original 8.
Yes, it’s $14. Like before, it’s been a labor of love from a small group of people. No one is making money on this little book, mostly it goes to keeping the computers running and an occasional bottle of wine. If you enjoy the pictures at FGG, a small bit of your money keeps Dennis’ site up and running.
I mention this so you’re aware that “Riding Fixed” is, and has always been, a grassroots publication. People got behind the project because they wanted to see it blossom. If I could, I would give the things away, but that simply isn’t possible. If you like the writing I encourage you to buy a copy because the stuff reads better from a beat up copy you keep in your bike bag.

Background: Mayo wrote these stories here in 2003. I collected them, with Mayo's permission, I had them professionally laid out, and then printed, then did all the work on selling them through 2004. In early 2005 I began traveling so much, I couldn't help in a second run, so after that, 2005 ish, Mayo got the original e version, and he sent it to FGG.
Do you understand now?
What the comments you quoted were about (look at the date): I was fed up with the 40 plus people who said "send me one" but didn't bother to send money or pay up front. It was 5 dollars.
