Wow... never seen Gainsville on the inside. Only from 75. Looks... a lot like I thought it would heh. I REALLY like the corner house in the 4th picture. That thing is gonna be sweet!

After a little 10 mile ride through the desert I stumbled upon this: a tractor pull! Welcome to Idaho.

More of the place. This is to one of my favorite, but very weird, cafe shops:
The starting road.

Some local art:

The whole wall:

My favorite house on the path:

The ending place, Purple Moon Cafe:

It is about a 20 mile ride all together. Really nice ride.

Ohhhhh Gainesville. Such a sordid past we share. I never went to school there, but I partied there almost every weekend my first few years of college. I'll come back someday, I swear.

The hippsters don't bother me as much as the utter lack of nightlife!!! And the lack of 24hr stores and restaurants and mexican food

(Sorry, all pics made w/ cameraphone)

HQ: garden of the cultural complex I sometimes mess for; that's my bike locked on it's usual spot. Shot from the staircase leading to the offices.

Still at HQ. Love that old building. Yeah, that's grapes on the left side. Don't ask me why.

My fave bridge. A pain to ride across, sadly.

That's one funny boat...

This hill is literally 10 minutes from downtown, within the city, statue of liberty on top. Pretty cool place.

Same hill

From a bridge. Great to see this from the other bus lane while working (gotta cross the river @ work a few times/day as HQ is on the opposite side from downtown)

Bike lane on major avenue. Thanks.

Central square and rent-a-bike tourists. Bike renting became very popular lately. I fear for their lives sometimes...

Pretty nice old water tower 600 yards from where I live.

A couple more of my pics here

Or google image search Budapest for cool shots like this, the view from the top of the hill above (not my shot): http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpap...budapest_1.jpg

How is it that your camera phone has the same quality of pictures as my camera :(.

Heh.

Edit: And I just realized how beautiful your city really is. I can't wait to visit.

LóFarkas 10-08-06 11:17 AM

^ Yeah, I'm amazed by how watchable the pics are, considering the tiny lens. (Sony Ericsson D750) Pretty good colours as well.

DoshKel 10-08-06 11:22 AM

For sure.

i miss DC. been in philly the last 2 and a half years, but for 2 years before that i lived at 5th and E SE, and commuted to Rosslyn, VA. i LOVED that commute. a little bit of traffic, and a little bit of trail. the wind down by the river on the CC trail could be a ***** sometimes, but i always enjoyed the view. also had to look out for the wet boards of that board walk section (if it had been raining), you prob. know what i'm talking about.
Sometimes i'd go home through G-town, just to mix it up more with cars...Friday evenings heading home was a good way to test all my skills...

sigh.
