Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Some pics on my laughable 1.5 mi commute to work today. I do have about a 1000 foot vertical decent into work though, which makes for an awesome 1000 foot climb on the way home.

At the bottom of my driveway

Coming up to half the hill.

Coming up on the other half.

Balboa park is pretty cool, I never realized how much until I changed job locations and don't ride through it anymore.

Nope. The shot would have the same buildings, but from a different perspective.

Best I've got right now, Marlow OK.

Its really dangerous for me to leave my house on a bicycle. 4-Lane undivided Highway, coming down from 70MPH to 55. Nobody does 55.

Things get better once you're in town, if you can dodge the potholes.
Did I mention there are only 4,500 people in this town?
Even with non-existent traffic, pickups and suvs still get mad at you for being on the road, and they don't understand why they can't pass you without speeding (25MPH city streets, i pass cars more than cars pass me.)

Thats all I've got of my own pictures, i'll get more soon, i promise. Of Oklahoma City, Norman, Stillwater and Edmond and Duncan and Tulsa too. I don't ride Lawton. People get shot in Lawton.

Here's a picture of Main and Broadway in Marlow, from the internet.

I don't think the plaza is THAT bad. Just the building.

Clearwater, FL. Foreground is the Clearwater bridge out to the beach. The background shows the Sand Key bridge. Days like these make me forget about hurricanes.

upon first glance, it looks like that cannondale has a disc wheel in the back, but it's just a street lamp base.
