at this point, salome should be in her kitchen cranking out pumpkin bread (**please note** that comment not in any way meant to reinforce antiquated women's roles, merely a direct reaction to her aforementioned pumpkin bread baking.)

everyone else should be stretching, meditating and getting a good nights rest.

cuz tomorrow it's on.

salome already cranked (no pun intended) out the pumpkin bread and is in no way offended by comments related to baking as all salome is capable of baking is pumpkin bread and homemade brownies which, by the way, taste amazing with peanut butter. yum.

My god. I just honestly looked at this route. There is absolutely no way in hell I am going even vaguely be able to pretend that I am going to know where I am going.

Its a shame there won't be people at corners pointing. I am wondering why I am even considering going to this. Its probably the t-shirt.

it really isn't that complicated. i got a nice map that i made up that makes it look relatively straight forward.

the only part that makes it look complicated on a map is you're taking la Salle twice (both times going north) and wacker twice (going opposite directions).

I spent two hours in Yojimbo's today, and was so proud of myself for leaving without spending any money.

Not five minutes ago, my recently patched front inner tube exploded, so there goes my spare. Does anyone have an extra long-stem tube they could bring tomorrow? Knowing my luck, I'll need it.

hey, hope the race went well for you guys—it was confusing routing it yesterday. and scary with mid-day traffic. any stories?

edit—I didn't go... after checking out the route and riding around with teabaggg I spent almost four hours locked out of the apartment yesterday, in riding clothes, riding around trying to keep warm. windy as **** too.

and right now my desktop's hard drive wants to die so no steaktaco pic for a while... maybe tuesday.

awesome race. my favorite thus far. the pack stayed together and rode a green wave to the 1st checkpoint, which broke up the pack considerably due to poker chip feeding-frenzy.

shortly thereafter i closely witnessed a crash. guy with a pink gunnar smacked the side of a car, sort of popped off his bike and landed on his feet... pretty freakin graceful actually. he was back on in no time. the car on the other hand, had a dent roughly the size of the dude. he was all smiles at the finish line.

super fun time.
