Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Nice suprises in a 68mm packages.

The mercury hit 4 degrees celcius today and I got antsy for spring. I didn't have any plans for the evening so I decided to give my fair-weather bike the once-over for the first time since November. When I opened up the BB for the first time to clean and repack (I'd always had a shop do it before) I found that it was not some 10$ POS but the matching Sugino 75. It was like finding a fifty dollar bill in an old coat pocket. Between that and the out-of-casual-conversation job offer from the LBS, it was a pretty good night.

Plain and simple: I had never looked.
I've only had the set since August and the closest LBS is three residential blocks from my house. When it wasn't running well before, I brought it in.
