did your hub's lockring arrive without the notches machined out? my friend's did. foreal.
edit: answered by a photo I neglected to view. um, so... anyone else? |
Man I am so tempted to grab one of those, but then I too would be waiting for a frame.
One of the last time's I was up in Seattle I walked by counterbalance and they had a Soma Rush in green with the miche primato grouppo, it was about the darndest prettiest thing I ever done saw. I love that group.
so included in the group are:
BB Cranks Chain hubs cog pedals ???? all for 295? |
my group included:
crankset 165 with 49t bb chain hubs lockring miche spline 14t cog with adapter pedals |
Wow.. that sounds like a steal... Ill be coming into some money soon, and an IRO frameset, and this group might be in my future... Is this a limited time only thing?
my ***** for miche is beginning to get painful...
when i called chuck the other day he said he had 10 groups in stock. he also said he is working on getting some more seatpost
Oh man... I am most definitely going to have to get a group.. I really hope they dont sell out in the next week or 2. How much were those seatposts before?
12.50

i thought this was going to be a thread about new converse
I just realized...
complete mark V with so-so components: $549 Mark V with miche group, decent rims, spokes, seat/post,stem,bars - $649 +/- $50 Seems like a pretty good mid-level upgrade to my conversion. How aggressive is the geometry of a Mark V compared to a REAL track frame? And is the angus frameset really worth another 80 bucks? |
I was planning on using the group for an IRO angus build when tony was having the 10% discount. well i got the group but didn't get the frame. I am going to wait and see if i can pick up another frame on ebay.
not saving 25 bucks isnt too big of a deal to me.... but im still kicking myself for not buying the frame then.
Do these hubs have sealed bearings?
The Miche hubs use sealed cartridge bearings.
yes, the new models are sealed. very nice, simple hubs.
Yeah, thats what I thought.... yet I emailed chuck's bikes and he said otherwise:
me: I was wondering how many of these you had left? Also, are the hubs sealed bearings? and is the cog included a regular track cog, or do you get a miche cog carrier and one of their splined cogs? can the purchaser choose the size of that cog? Also, will you be getting any more miche CNC'd seatposts soon? him: I have about 8 left. The hubs do not have sealed bearings. The cog is a miche cog carrier. Sorry I only have 15t cogs. I dont think I will be getting more posts. |
Interesting - they must be the old ones, then. the newer models definitely are sealed.
Well, they are $200 below market value... there has to be some catch!
The BB is italian threaded, right? I've been toying with the idea of getting the miche group for one of the Red Rose Olmo track frames - you'd get a lot of bike for $700 plus the cost of bars, rims and spokes. |
ah crap.. this BB wont fit in a Mark V then eh?
I don't think so... but, IRO BBs are what, $20? And you could probably sell the Miche one on ebay for that, easily. I'd be more concerned about the hub seals and attempting to rock a 49/15 gearing off a track.
