I was so upset that i didn't get my seatpost from chucks i thought i would make myself happy by ordering the group instead. I also added a cinelli groove stem for my fuji. all i need now is a frame...

I just realized...
complete mark V with so-so components: $549
Mark V with miche group, decent rims, spokes, seat/post,stem,bars - $649 +/- $50

Seems like a pretty good mid-level upgrade to my conversion. How aggressive is the geometry of a Mark V compared to a REAL track frame? And is the angus frameset really worth another 80 bucks?

I was planning on using the group for an IRO angus build when tony was having the 10% discount. well i got the group but didn't get the frame. I am going to wait and see if i can pick up another frame on ebay.

The Miche hubs use sealed cartridge bearings.

Yeah, thats what I thought.... yet I emailed chuck's bikes and he said otherwise:

me:
I was wondering how many of these you had left? Also, are the hubs sealed bearings? and is the cog included a regular track cog, or do you get a miche cog carrier and one of their splined cogs? can the purchaser choose the size of that cog? Also, will you be getting any more miche CNC'd seatposts soon?

him:

I have about 8 left. The hubs do not have sealed bearings. The cog is a miche cog carrier. Sorry I only have 15t cogs. I dont think I will be getting more posts.

Interesting - they must be the old ones, then. the newer models definitely are sealed.

Well, they are $200 below market value... there has to be some catch!
The BB is italian threaded, right? I've been toying with the idea of getting the miche group for one of the Red Rose Olmo track frames - you'd get a lot of bike for $700 plus the cost of bars, rims and spokes.

I don't think so... but, IRO BBs are what, $20? And you could probably sell the Miche one on ebay for that, easily. I'd be more concerned about the hub seals and attempting to rock a 49/15 gearing off a track.
