I'd be willing....

to MOD the SS/FG forum. Koffee says that mods are chosen based on how versatile they are in different forums of BF, but I would be willing to do just SS/FG if possible, I'm on here for about 6 hours a day and I've been around for some time.

I guess I'm wondering if you guys think I would be any good at it. I think I've got a good bit of common sense and I know the rules and I think I would do an alright job. I would be open and honest with everything I need to and would PM anyone to let them know why I lock/deleted a thread.

I mean, you guys know me, and it seems like sometimes it would be better if we heard some of the MOD stuff from one of our own and if you wonderful people think I would do okay with that responsibility I'd like to know.

Or you can just tell me how much I would suck at it. Your call

Not as much about versitility. Versitility is but ONE of the considerations. There is a whole heck of a lot of considerations discussed. And such discussions are usually broached when we either lose a moderator or when the forum seems to expand and the amount of hands we have on board is not enough.

If someone is being considered, we usually will contact them once we've narrowed down a list of names and run them by Joe and had discussions with him also.

Bikes: I built the Bianchi track bike back up today.

I'd make so much better of a mod. I'd get all liquored up and delete all the threads on the first page and replace them with a thread about pie. It would be sweet!

I would like Rancid as a mod. I seiously have a huge problem with the fact that paying and non-paying members have no ****ing say in who their moderators are. bull**** if you ask me.

I wasn't aware that you paid the roughly $1500 a month server fees, which are not covered in part by one time donations by members. The out of pocket costs Joe pays to keep this forum running, added to the fact that this is a private forum formed and run by Joe gives him all the leeway in the world to do whatever he wants.

As for now, we have no need for new moderators. But when the time does come that a new moderator is chosen, Joe (or someone Joe asks) will make an announcement as far as who he's comfortable with moderating.

Quite a bit. I contribute large sums at a time. I also give regularly spread out over each year. I like to contribute regularly because I know Joe never has spare change.

Bikes: Lots. Mostly steel. Mostly heavy. Mostly geared, and very low, at that.

why does it matter? Koffee's finances are her business, not anyone else's.

it matters because she brought up finances first. Koffee has been the ****ing rooted tree in my eye for over a year. I hate her with all of my e-heart. In real life i would probably hit on her... but on the internet i hate her.

Private site, mods are picked based on how they would use and enforce Joes rules and guidelines. We can't have someone simply voted in by members, because, like school, the popular would likely get in and not the one who would actually do the job, as outlined by joe, properly. If you don't like the fact that this is a private site, where we basically work for Joe for free, then please start up your own forums and create rules that are appealing to your sensabilities and then enforce them as you please.

You are more then welcome to suggest someone and we will gladly look at it as a consideration. But we look at things like which time slot will the person fill, will this person be an active mod or a more back of house mod, proactive vs reactive. Does he/she have the potential to go nuts and start a banathon. And finally, does this person already follow the rules in place and understand why Joe has those rules in place. If the person suggested matchs those criteria and we actually need a mod at that point then the person will most likely be brought on.

Give it up Jam, this is a loosing battle on your part. Don't like her, put her on ignore and I will get her to forward all problems with you to me. I definately recommend backing off.

Her first statement, btw, had nothing to do with her donations. It was a subtle point, obviously missed, that JOE pays for the site with some help. With joe paying for the site, it is his site to create and enforce rules as HE sees fit and this includes bringing on mods HE sees fit to help enforce the rules and give a place for everyone to play. You were the one to bring up donations.

Rancid, I am sorry to see your thread hijacked. We will look at our current needs and I will get back to you in the next couple of days. We don't normally take volunteer action quite in this way hahaha
