30 stitches, 4 broken teeth and a bent Kerin frame later...

Hey guys, just letting you know I'm joining the club. I got hit last night by a girl turning left and not looking where she was going and moving way too fast. I just got out of the hospital where I recieved 30 stitches on three large cuts to the face. I also obtained 4 broken teeth and the roof of my mouth has a fracture. I'll get dental work tommorow or friday to fix the teeth and my face will heal. The worst part might be that the crash bent my NJS Level frame in two place. I spent two months and a lot of money putting that thing together and have only had it for a week. Wish me well guys, I'll be needing it.

bummer, that sucks man. heal fast, and work the insurance (if you have it) for all its worth.

edit: if its any condolance I ate **** on the first day with my current bike and fractured my femur. fortunately the bike came out ok save for an NJS dent, just had to retighten the front hub cones.

Bikes: I built the Bianchi track bike back up today.

If I were a doctor I'd prescribe you lots of whiskey. That sucks.

Depending on how bad the teeth are and where the cuts on your face are, you might want to wait a little to get the teeth fixed. You can live with em if they're just chipped for quite awhile. If they're like shattered, it's totally different. I'm just thinking it would such to have the cuts re-open or tear out stitches trying to get your mouth open wide enough to let the dentist do their thing.

Heal fast - sorry about your bike.

well, as said before that really sucks, and too bad for your bike, for she won't heal, but hopefully you will, and the sooner the better.

Damn those women drivers...

**** man, that really blows... at least you didnt get any more permanent injuries considering it sounds like your head took a beating. That sucks about the bike too, (this is Pete) I saw it when you were at Recycles last week and it looked pretty sweet. Good luck with healing up.

idiocy i think not. most people hold those frames up on a pedistol and baby the hell out of them(more than most frames, hence why they sell like hot cakes and go for insane amounts of money) and complaining about ruining said frame is just stupid, because if you held that bike in such high regard why would you put it in a potentially more dangerous situation.

Bikes: Zebrakenko (nishiki knock-off) fixed. Its all broke though. Now, some other old, unidentified japanese frame, freshly spray-painted black(kinda hot). Puch, ss...or is that fffda7th's?

My two front teeth are implants. Very expensive, but quite nice. I like em better than my natural ones. It hurts when they torque the titanium screws into your skull, but you get to say cool things like that later. Heal well.

here's an idea. if you want to start this argument, do it in another thread.

****in sucks about you getting hit. there really seems to be a **** ton of posters getting hit recently. i've still got 18 ****in days until the doctors say it's ok for me to ride again.
