I'm going off to university this summer, and I'll be doing all my traveling by bike. Most of the time I will have records in tow. I'm likely getting a Baileyworks (it's between that or Chrome, but who needs another debate?), whenever they get their online ordering working again.

Now, to anyone that has a Baileyworks SuperPro in either Medium or Large: they've got a listed height of twelve inches, but is it possible to fit something twelve-by-twelve in there comfortably without having the top all bulgy? I'll likely have a few textbooks, notebooks, etc, packed in as well, so that should be taken into consideration.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

That would work until the first rainstorm I get caught in. Also, without a crate packed full of records, they would shuffle around quite a bit. Definitely going to have to carry via bag.

i have carried all my records that i aquired on a month tour in my bailey works bag. i also carried two 12 packs of pepsi it it. you can put a pony keg in them.

Yeah, but what size bag do you have? I want to stick with a medium or large.

Also, what band are you in? Florida has had a lot of good stuff going on the past few years.

Actually, I have your split with Maj Rule. I dig your side quite a bit. Are you one of the dudes who went onto Holy Mountain? Their first 7" was a beast.

nah thats tyler and evan was in holy mountain for while. tylers my best friend and evan is my old roomate. that whole thing happened cuz i moved to boston for a couple years. thanks man. not many people have that thing and if they do its for maj rule obviously.

i'm going to college next year as well and have been wondering the same thing. I'm really unsure about taking my whole collection with me, although i can't imagine living without it.

You'll be hella more comfortable with a REload midpack or backpack for records+ your normal baggage. It'll also be comfortable walking between destinations on campus. Eve the midpack dimensions scream mini DJ tote

I don't know if this really helps, but I have a Chrome Ranchero backpack, and I can fit over 30 records in it.

I have a bailey's XL and can easily toss in this burton record bag my old roommate gave me. It holds about 50 records and there is plenty of room left in the bailey's. For all the people in here saying the L is large enough I have to say I'm really glad I got the XL. When the bike is your primary transit it's damn easy to fill that thing up...

Also I really wouldn't recommend carrying records loose in a messenger bag. You'll start ending up with records that curve to fit your back... Get a bag with some stiffness and padding and either use that solo or toss it inside the mess bag.

Here's my wife's Bailey Works Album bag...not sure what size hers is, but I'm guessing you could get them in M, L and XL.

I toss a lp mailer in my reload when I go to shows so I can carry records home without too much worry about messing them up. I have the citizen which has a 13" height but I still get a little buldge at the flap, but that probably has a lot to do with how well the mailer is positioned inside the bag. you can always use the buckles to keep everything strapped down so a L superpro should work out pretty well.

Same situation. By the time I move, my collection will be unbearably large considering my 12'x12' dorm room. Plus DJ table (heavy and big), 80s stereo system, two 1.5'x3' speakers...it's going to be a tight fit, if at all.


I don't like the bulky styling of DJ bags, though. Plus this will be serving as a general backpack and travel pack, not just for records.


I actually have a huge mailer (I believe it originally sent eighteen LPs) that I lined with thin, stiff foam. I've thrown it in my traditional-style backpack to bike to a friend's house or whatever, and it kept everything in good condition. For 7"s I've got a million padded mailers that will do the job fine.


Tozovr: That looks like a pretty awesome bag, but once again the structure gets to me. I don't like bulky, square shapes.

I have the Chrome L (metropolis?) and I can fit a good amount of 12"s in there. Whenever I go back and forth from Chicago to Boston, I always seem to bring around 25-30 LPs back to Chicago and I have no problem bringing them back, save for discomfort of that weight on my shoulder.

My buddy just got the REload Courier and I have to say thats a pretty sharp looking bag, not that this has any relevance right now, but its still pretty damn nice.
