Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I got $5 for having a fixie

I was on the bus today with my bike on the rack and there was another bike on rack.. anyways this crack head type of guy was like "ohh yeah i like what you did with your bike good job" then handed me a $5 bill "its not everyday someone does this" then he gets off the bus gets his bike and rides away. He made my day.

I found a note under my bike a few weeks ago which was somewhat unintelligible but there was a $1 bill with it.

Help
Can leave $1 here
for you Fri. [might say something else] 7AM.

I looked up the address and it doesn't exist. I also found this note on saturday so if the last line does say "Fri" then whoops, I missed it.

I used to live in an apartment next to this alcoholic guy. I never once saw him wearing a shirt. He was a nice guy, but a little too nice. Used to leave me little notes in my mail slot. "Have a nice day!" "Have a great day, and the day after that!" All written on lined paper with crayon and marker. One had a candy bar taped to it. I didn't eat it. I moved out.

I would have eaten it for 5 bucks...

One time I found a note that said "this bike is a pipe bomb" and I had to tear my bike down to the lugs to make sure it was safe....
