Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

ouch, my shoulder!

used it to take out a street sign during yesterday's alleycat (due to pedal clip). there are certain angles it hurts just to hold it at. oh, well.

got to meet one BF member, met some other cool people, and a great time was had by all. i possibly drank too much.

but ow, my shoulder...

hmph. I used my shoulder to take out a bus last week. My only hope is that that bus is running around somewhere with a shoulder-sized dent in the back of it.

I saw that happen in a movie once. I think you starred. I'm pretty sure that bus was spouting blood as you spat on it and rode off to victory. Like I said, I saw it. In a movie.

you may have eff'ed up your rotator cuff. I'd get it checked out if you have insurance. will probably take a MRI. I ain't no doctor or nothing, just a dude who tore his rotator cuff. when I did mine I didn't have any major pain, my arm just wouldn't move in ways it used to.

meh, i think it'll be okay. it just hurts. it doesn't feel useless or anything, just like a fresh wound. give it a couple days and i'm sure it'll be fine. that's what i normally do with things that hurt, and they usually go away after a bit. i just have to take it easy on the shoulder for a bit.

and s_9, i almost forgot that. that was pretty gnarly. how're you feeling?

as far as the pedal clip, i'm not totally sure that's what it was, but i know that there was a chance i'd clip my pedal and lose control--i was taking a turn into an empty parking lot pretty fast and realized i could either skid and probably end up skidding my face on the pavement, or hope luck would be on my side and not let me lose control due to pedal strike. didn't happen, and instead of hitting the grass, i hit a street sign, sort of knocking it into an angle, which i'm sort of proud of.
