Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: 74 paramount track, 80s maruishi track, 70s chesini track.

don't think they make a black one. they did have some with unpolished sides i think. if you want black, just get a silver one use a filthy chain and ride for a while without cleaning..

The one I'm using looks pretty blackish.

No shots of it by itself, but here's one in context :

Bikes: 1 Mikkelsen custom. (Brooks Pro, Phils)

I just rode a Phil 18t cog for the first time today...
I wanted an all new drivetrain on my beater so it's a:
Campy C-Record track crank (170mm)
HKK Vertex chain (silver)
Phil 18t cog
TA Specialities 44t chainring
Phil bottom bracket

Dude, this stuff ROCKS!
This gearing is perfect for the hills of SF.......
44/18 and yeah you spin a bit on the flats BUT ...it's a City ! and you never REALLY get to mash...
It's all stoplights, pedestrians, pigeons, and potholes..

A bit??? wtf

That might work for me now but after more training i think the hills in SF will be no match for 42x15

So, in general is everyone saying that these ****ing cogs rock ****ing hard and could be considered the ultra jam. I am huge fan of selling things, should I not sell this cog? Should I ride something I did not pay for? These are all questions that need to be answered. And because of these forums I have lost ability to control my life, please help me, I have become a zombie controlled by the innerweb.

I get really nervous when other people look at my bikes. I'm always afraid they'll make fun of my cog.

1/8 16s are done, 3/32 16s are not.
Freewheel, Business, and Harris either do or will in the next couple days have them.
