Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

ADT Center

I am going to be in LA next week visiting my parents and I want to take a trip to the ADT center velodrome. Has anybody visited this place? Will they let me on the track? Will I have to take a class? Do the have rental bikes? I must know!!!

Yes, you can ride on the track. You need to take a class first, either the track training course if you haven't got a history of USAC track racing on other velodromes or the accelerated Saturday course if you do (the latter just talks about rules unique to this class, and helps screen for people who don't know what they're doing). They do have some rental bikes. Then you have to ride in the sessions when you are eligible to ride (e.g., as a beginner, as an established track rider, or as an elite). See www.lavelodrome.org for details.

Also go to https://www.homedepotcenter.com/event...ompageid=10923 for more info too on when classes happen. 11.4 said it correctly though. It's all about being safe.
