Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Philly!

I'm in town visiting the parents and the old friends for the weekend. I love them all, but they do suck in that they don't ride fixed. Anthing happening friday or saturday for fixed-friendly people? I'd love to meet some of the philly forum people.

sorry i am mtn biking... enjoy your stay! even if you cant get anyone to ride with you you should head up to the art museum and go around the river loop (up kelly, back down mlk, turn around at falls bridge) it's a nice little loop with good scenery but probably entirely too many people if you do it at a normal hour on saturday. it is cool and pretty well lit at night!

Go to Manayunk .... and get on the trail that goes to Valley forge. Plenty people on the weekends but not as many as in the summer.

Everyone's coming to town this weekend it seems. My spare bike will be lent out, but we may be riding somewhere, somehow, sat or sun AM. I'll post it anything happens.

And +1 for the Tuesday pretzel ride, if you're still around.
