Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I could maybe see 600. I'd prefer dura-ace, though, just 'cuz.

Some guy was talking about "Super-bee" parts. Does anyone know anything about those?

As long as it's full AX with DynaDrive and those weird centre-pulls that look like the evil robot from Robocop, then I guess it's cool.

Well today I had my first real ride on my single speed ,This is the first single speed I have owned and I can NOW understand what the hype is about, What a THRILL it is to drive , I started out from the lake up the big Beach hills to my LBS Cycle Solutions east End picked up some stuff and bombed down Kingston Road and I am not used to the little skinny slick tires and they freak me out abit , anyways heading downtown I notice the bike makes hardly a sound ( sort of a cool low buzz ) and how I can feel everything the bike is doing and the straight chain responds perfectly to each push of my foot and I feel like a kid again zipping around plus my brain is free to take in everything around me since I no longer have to think about shifting gears .. ****ing awesome bike drive from work late tonight , I am in love now with Single Speeds and I'll switch over one of my mountain bikes to single gear too.
