for sure, i just kicked it around sf all day on saturday in the same fashion. first sunny day in a while inbetween all this rain. go throw find a muddy hill and throw yourself down it (good luck down in la).

practicality fetish? I need to fix this, although the 3 speed is pretty nice as is.

im confused, an xc or a cx bike? either would be cool, both would be best.

Here's my Rob Roy cross bike. Risers for comfort and mtb SPDs, computer and blinkie off my mtb and a new chain w/ a nylon sleeve to protect the paint. No fenders or rack so not as practical as my mtb, but it's lighter and faster.

40x16 but with 700x43 tires = 69.7 gear inches.

The Panaracer Cross tires...

Nice to have a break in the rain, took a few weird backlit pictures. Sorry, this bike will eventually be finished, I promise. Lots of bar, lever, and seat swaps to go.

I really love the way the drivetrain looks in these shots. My old Sugino RT cranks look really great with the big 1/8" chain and the early chromo egg beaters. Kindof bike porn-ish, but more just a cool timeless bike aesthetic.

thanks. i have 32c ritchey speedmax tires on my *ahem*geared...*ahem* 'cross bike now. i like them, especially for commuting, but i do a lot of single track with my 'cross bike and those panaracers look like they would handle all of the decomposed granite scree you find on many of the trails around here better than the ritchey's.

WTF The library started filtering the computers, so I can't even open up page number 3 due to "questionable content." They told me it only filters out sex acts when I went to complain.

But on pages 1 and 2...Nice rides!

Might be the mentions of the "Il Pompin0", which means smoking pole in eye-talian.
