Duratec Track Frames?
 

Does anyone on the board have any experience with these frames?
I havnt ever seen one around, but suddenly there are a number of them on ebay.
Yojimbo is selling them, so maybe bfffgCHI know something about them?

Stiff and bladelike. Cuts through slow packs like a Ginsu knife cuts through jello. I pushed it around the track a few laps - good ride indeed

A bit overpriced in an already glutted market.

There's been a grip of them up on ebay lately. From what I can tell they're relatively common upper-mid-level European jobs. I don't know anything about the tubing, but the build looks solid. About par for the price, though 800 is a lot to blow on a frame you don't know that much about.

They're from Poland, seriously.

I wouldn't say they're overpriced. A little expensive, but they have a great reputation over in Europe. Super stiff, and amazingly light. If i had the cash, I'd be all over one. Honestly, it'll probably be my next bike purchase. It would be a great race bike.

Michael Jackson has a great reputation in Europe too.

The point is that they're really nice bikes. I'm pretty sure they just started importing them to the US, so naturally, not many people are going to know much about them.

They're cool. Those Krakow Kielbasas should be devoured in Chicago and Milwaukee! And maybe Buffalo.

As for the frame, looks good to me!

the duratec v6 in my svt contour kicked ass. that's all i really have to say.

They're made from old ford duratec engines... super heavy and prone to problems.

HAHAHAHA props for the contour. Turbocharged Duratecs are used in Nobles too. I'd sell a kidney to get one of those.

As for the Duratec frame, I'd wish I'd seen those when I chose my fetish position frame. For some reason black frames were callin' my name when I was last shopping and I wasn't able to find any old pista concepts in my size so I went with the fetish. It looks weird as heck even though I built it up with a nice parts spec, I think its the tall geometry (I'm talking about my Fetish, not the duratec).

Anyone know of any nice black aluminum or steel frames for around $500? The TK2 and Duratec are a little too much unless I can find them for cheaper, I may end up switching up my fetish for a black barenuckle or pake. You guys have any recommendations?

it's nothing like the generic, mass produced then rebranded Tsunami frames.

The duratecs are psuedo-custom. you contact them and you're able to spec out the color scheme you want (we got both in matte black) and the measurements for TT, ST, and other things. We ordered 2 for the shop, a 56 and a 53 and their serial #s are right next to each other. Hand built, strict quality control - these are definitely race frames - nothing cheap about them.

I like the "made in the european union" sticker myself.

The welds look nice but if if I'm going to pay $800 for an aluminim, made-for-track frame I don't want any brake holes...

I get nothing if it sells - it's not mine. i just think it's a cool frame. the holed carbon fork kinda turns me off a bit, but the more I watch the *good* track racers, they're on ugly bikes with stems w/positive rise, and big, wide, goofy road bars. Function over fashion.

It reminds me of my cannondale that I sadly just sold. Well, the frame part of it - not the fork.

seems to be a lot of the Magnetic T8 frames on ebay via Ben's Cycle lately.

The US importer of Noble cars is based in an exurb of Cincinnati - close to my main training stomping grounds. I've only seen them out on the open road a couple of times; all I can really say is that they're effing hot and their drivers give cyclists a decent berth.

They have been reappearing lately (for a lot cheaper). Is it a good deal? What are they like?

Does anybody else think it's funny that they call an Aluminum bike "Magnetic"?

Europe (Britain, Germany and France) has a richer track history and more present success (AFAIK) than the US so I guess European opinions on track kit are relevant.

I just ordered one. The seller sent me an email informing me the Czech is in the mail.

Apparently you missed the caveat in Morpheus's explanation...
The real question is, if they had the fusion, why would they even need all the elaborate machinery and such to enslave humanity? Or is that their actual goal, and not just a means to an end?
