Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

got lucky...

(Guy who sold me the Redline 925 on craigslist deleted the ad I linked to here)

Buddy of mine's picking it up tonight, and the seller's even going to retension the wheels for me.

Yet another reason I can't wait to get home from this hellhole.

Seat tube is extended farther than he prefers?
Looks like a pretty standard extension to me.
Weird.

Yeah, I thought that was kind of strange... but I talked to the guy on his phone, he knows his stuff, has a truing stand, etc... Probably just not a fan of compact geometry and has enough other bikes that this one isn't a necessity.

I have no complaints.

I won't be back home until May 18, so it'll be a while. But don't worry, I'll let y'all know.

I can say one thing: It will require a great many aesthetic modifications.

50 or 60 years, barring any large advances in medical technology.
