Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm home, post-root canal, and it's raining outside. I'm sort of working, i suppose, but I'm definitely not riding today.

Bikes: many bikes

I'm working hard.....

..at wanting to go home and finish repainting my frame. Got one last coat, and parts are going back on!!!! Oh and I would love to get more saddle time in, the Houston to Austin MS150 is just around the corner. All I can think of is that ice cold beer waiting in Austin. I can see it now, that brown bottle sitting on a nice hardwood bar. With water and ice easing off its sides... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... beer.

Ahem. This particular youngin is 31 and rides his bike ten miles to campus for classes while ditching work.

Around here, the fun cycling season is over; in less than a month we'll have our first 100F+ days and riding will only be fun just before dawn, when the temp gets all the way down to 85-90F. Extra t-shirts and more water than you think you'll need are the order of the day.

Sounds like not wearing cotton is the real order of the day.

Bikes: A bunch

I was riding my bike to school on a really nice morning last week and just as I was about to turn into my schools parking lot I thought, "Fu** this sh**" and kept on riding for the rest of the day.

I rode all day friday and saturday instead of studying. This weather does not last long around here either. It will be in the 90's by the end of the week. In a month it will be 100+ and humid as hell.
