Beaters in LA
I need to know whats a good place to search for beaters or simple conversions in LA. I looked all over on CL and went to a bunch of salvation army stores and goodwill and have not found a single candidate. Do you guys have any good sources for this? I'm in LA a lot and I'm getting sick of not having a bike here so I'm looking to get a beater to ride around town and keep here for when I'm back. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Try Atomic Cycles on Saticoy in Van Nuys... they have a good selection of used stuff.

bicycle kitchen's closed tomorrow right? I thought that was a repair space and doesn't actually sell bikes?
Yeah, I'm pretty small... I ride anything from 49-52cm.
Sashae, Van Nuys is out in the boondocks to me... too far of a drive and I avoid that area if I can...
I'm just looking for something really cheap that I won't feel bad leaving here most of the year. I hate driving around all the time here, especially since I live on the west side, theres really no need to drive. I'm gonna be here till monday so it'd be cool if I can find a bike by then so I'll have one to ride next time I'm over on this coast.

Cheap=under 200... real beater... I'd be down to convert and as long as they have tools I can do it myself, but are they open tomorrow?
Any other place that'll have super cheap frames or conversions? I'm not looking to go out to the valley, but I know that the westside isn't the best area to look for this stuff.

When you're tired of driving around the westside, go see Paul at Atomic Cycles, I'm sure he can help you out.
